Need some Community Service Bursary/Duke Hours?

The Charlottetown Naiads Synchronized Swimming Club

  • The Charlottetown Naiads Synchronized Swimming Club is looking for male and female volunteers to assist with its recreational program for children aged 4-12 years. Synchro experience not required but should have Bronze Medallion certification. Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, 6:00-7:00 pm at the Bell Aliant Centre (formerly CARI) pool.  2019 Atlantic Cup Speed Skating Championships are being held in Charlottetown on November  9th and 10th.

  • The Atlantic Cup is one of the best speed skating competitions held in the Maritimes and we would love to have a some great people to help make it one of the best yet. No experience necessary. We are looking for volunteers to help with Lap Counters, Line Judges, Manual TImers, Heat Box Attendants, Track/Corner Stewards (on ice help-must be a fast skater), Runners, and hospitality room help.  We will also have a hospitality room available to all volunteers so food will be provided throughout the day. Whether you have experience or not we will be happy to find a great spot for you! One or two days of volunteer hours are available and the day runs from 7:45 am to around 4-5 pm.  If anyone is interested please contact  This is great opportunity to learn more about the "Fastest human powered sport in the world". How to Register for the Community Service Bursary

If you are an Island student in grade 10, 11 or 12 and planning to attend any post-secondary institution, you may receive a community service bursary in recognition of your volunteer work.

You can accumulate volunteer hours from the completion of Grade 9 until June 30th of your Grade 12 year.

You may place your bursary on hold for one academic year.

The maximum value of the bursary is $750.00, calculated at a rate of $5.00 per volunteer hour.  You are required to volunteer a minimum 30 hours, up to a maximum 150 hours.  You will be issued a T4A slip for this bursary.

Upon completion of your hours, organizations may complete the online volunteer hours form - Link to Volunteer Form.

Step 3

If you are in Grade 12 and you have completed the hours, you must submit online  a Student Post-secondary Information Form to the Department of Workforce and Advanced Learning by June of your graduating year.  Link  to Student Information Form.
